Under her guidance, the CDP’s staff and volunteers have continued to make strong progress as it prepares for the 2020 election. This weekend’s convention is part of that progress. More than 3,500 delegates will hear from 14 Democratic candidates for U.S. President and from Democratic leaders, including Governor Gavin Newsom, Senate President pro Tem Toni G. Atkins, and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, among many other luminaries.

In addition, no Chair has fundraised more money into the Party in her first six months in office than Rooker.

Gallardo-Rooker, who previously served as California Democratic Party First Vice Chair, became acting Chair with the resignation of former Chairman Eric Bauman in December 2018. Gallardo-Rooker has served as an officer with the California Democratic Party for the past 21 years.
