| Finance Council The California Democratic Party Finance Council is a group of organization and business leaders who are active friends to the Party and its efforts - particularly those efforts geared towards elections that affect California. Finance Council members keep California dollars in California. Membership benefits include our Annual Finance Council Retreat, special State Convention and Election Night activities, and exclusive briefings and receptions with national and statewide Democratic leaders. We ask our Finance Council members to make a minimum commitment of $5,000 during an "off-year" and $15,000 during an election year. Our Finance Council members care about issues important to California, and because of them, California continues to be the influential Democratic stronghold of the nation. 2008 Finance Council membership is $15,000. Finance Council Benefits Include: Invitations to exclusive Finance Council events. Recent activities include briefings from State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, State Controller John Chiang, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nuñez, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and all of our statewide constitutional officers.
