"The Office of the Lieutenant Governor has enormous untapped potential to better the lives of everyday Californians. During the next four years I will work to build this office into a powerful advocate for social and economic progress. This Golden State has issued a call for leadership that will help develop programs to provide health care for all; an education system that is second to none; strong protections for our environment; and a vibrant economy built upon good, stable jobs. These are my priorities as Lieutenant Governor, and I pledge that this office will work tirelessly to help deliver the results that Californians are seeking." -- John Garamendi
