A lifelong Democrat and 25 year resident of Long Beach, Uduak-Joe Ntuk has served the past six years as an Assembly District Delegate, the past three years as a Los Angeles County Central Committee Delegate and was elected as a Delegate to the Democratic National Conventions in 2008 & 2012.Uduak-Joe was selected as the 2014 Democrat of the Year for the 70th Assembly District. He has volunteered and worked on the numerous campaigns and ballot measures, most notably Obama for America (2008 & 2012), Kamala Harris for Attorney General (2010), the Yes on 30, No on 32 Campaigns, Alan Lowenthal for Congress (2012) and the Measure N Living Wage Campaign which gave local hotel workers guaranteed sick days and reasonable minimum wage while boosting our local economy. Wayne Chaney   Male   Wayne Chaney is a life long Democrat with a track record of public service as Long Beach Fire Fighter and Air Force Veteran. Since joining the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) in 1990, he has served as the Public Information Officer, Recruitment Officer, Director of the LBFD Mentor Program and in the Court Liaison Rescue Program. Wayne Chaney is a proud Board Member of the Long Beach Firefighters Association, IAFF Local 372. He has served as the association's Vice President, Liaison for the Civil Service Commission and Campaign Director. I currently serve as Vice President of Political Action for the Long Beach Lambda Democratic Club, Secretary for the Democratic Women's Study Club and am a member of the L.A. Edward Wilson   Male   I am the Mayor of Signal Hill having served on council for 18 years. I am a lifelong democrat and have voted in every election since turning 18. I would love your support/vote for my candidacy as a Assembly District Delegate. I was born in Ventura, CA the fourth child of 31 year career SMSGT LeRoy and Azie Wilson. As my father was in the Air Force, I grew up across the United States and Europe. I started school in Germany returned to the US living in Nevada, New Mexico, California and Ohio. I graduated from AFCENT International School in Brunssum, Holland. I have a BS from USC. I am a world citizen. I have lived in the Greater Long Beach area for over 28 years. Moving to Long Beach in 1985 and to Signal Hill in 1993 I brought a much needed focus on youth issues to the city. "The young are always are future. It is important that we provide opportunities for their success!" I am a CPA. I am a board member for LA County Sanitation, LA Rivers and Mountain Conservancy, Watershed Authority, and Gateway Cities COG. In life I follow my fraternity's motto: "Culture for Service and Service for Humanity!" I am an avid golfer.

I have worked and volunteered on over 20 political campaigns, worked for the State Assembly, and have been a White House intern under the Obama administration. I'm also involved in democratic organizing at the grass roots level. I'm a member of the almost every democratic club in Long Beach. I recently received a graduate degree from USC in Public Relations and an undergraduate degree from CSU, Long Beach in Political Science. King Chan   Male   King Chan is a rising junior at Long Beach City College, with plans to transfer and pursue degrees in international relations and political economy. King has worked in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Congresswoman, now U.S. Senator, Tammy Baldwin (D-WI); has worked with Long Beach Councilmember Dee Andrews and newly elected Mayor Robert Garcia; and worked on local Congressman Alan Lowenthal's 2012 campaign. King serves on the Executive Boards of the Long Beach Young Democrats, the Long Beach Lambda Democratic Club, and the California Young Democrats's LGBTQ Caucus. Tedric Williams   Male   Tedric Williams is humbly asking for your vote to the 70th Assembly District. Ted resides in Long Beach, and has unique ties to the area. Mr. Williams is actively involved and a committed believer in uplifting the community. Presently, Ted is an active mentor for the Long Beach City Prosecutor's P.A.C.T. program. His existing employment has allowed him to serve a diverse population of residents. Mr. Williams is also working in partnership with LBUSD to support school wide objectives. Ted seeks to advocate for causes that aligns with the California Democratic Party. Considering his genuine care and unique attachment to the region, Ted is dedicated to carrying out the desired responsibilities to the best of his ability. Mr. Williams has attained a B.S. in Business Administration and minor in Economics from CSULA. During his stay at CSULA, Ted served as the Vice President of Finance for Associated Students Incorporated. Under his leadership, Ted helped CSULA lead the charge on lowering fees for students. Ted ultimately aspires to create a niche that would allow him to make a positive impact in the lives of people he served.
 
Leon Foster   Male   I am Leon Foster and I ask for your vote to serve as a 2015-2017 Assembly District Delegate to the Democratic Central Committee. I am a product of Long Beach, born and raised in one of the more diverse neighborhoods in the city. My passion and drive as a Democrat in pursuit of equality and opportunity is immense. I currently serve on the Executive Board of Leadership Long Beach and recently rolled off the Board of Power 4 Youth, a youth mentoring organization. I work to balance the needs of City's Management team and the fiscal realities of the City government as a Board member and Secretary-Treasurer of the Long Beach Management Association. I am a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles and received my Juris Doctorate from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College with an emphasis on environmental law. Through personal and professional experience, I have learned a tremendous amount about the need for progressive balance between competing interests of the corporation and the individual, the economy and the environment. I wish I could Vote when Tom Bradley first run for Mayor and Lost to Mayor Sam Yorty. He lost three times before he became the 1st African American Mayor of Los Angeles. My mother was a Advocate and a Civil Servant. I could barely see over the dashboard of my mothers 67 Camero. When I would point out Bradley signs as we drove through Los Angeles as a child. I was the Boots on the ground in Denver & Lakewood Colorado for the 2012 Presidential Campaign for OFA. I also worked for various other Democratic Campaigns. If elected I would do my best to serve our Constituents and support the Law makers that has our best interest. Not the lobbyist.
 
April O'Connor   Female   I have been an educator for the last 16 years and currently am the Association President. I see on a daily bases the impact of successful legislation and the destruction of opportunity because of poor legislation. I think is very important that we all participate in the process that ensures that we have the best and brightest as our elected officials. The reason I am running for this position is to be a voice in the process for strong candidates that believe in strengthening the California and American dream.
 
Elaine Gehr   Female   Elaine Gehr, a third generation native southern Californian, is an Engineer and Program Manager in the national security/aerospace arena for Johns Hopkins University/Applied Physics Lab at Los Angeles Air Force Base, and is a Gulf War Era veteran, & former US Army Captain - Elaine also has a BS in Comp Sci & a MBA. Elaine has been active in the Long Beach Dems Club, and the Lambda Dems, as well as supported campaigns of Democratic elected officials at every level from City Council to Congress. Elaine has spoken on a political panel on Women in Politics Radio, is a current member of the Pacific Council on International Policy in LA and was recently a guest speaker for the Women's Dem Study Club, of which she is a member. Elaine is dedicated to the Democratic Party and all that it stands for, and is a true believer that we are greater together, than we are on our own. Tonia Uranga   Female   My name is Tonia and I am a lifelong Democrat and I am proud to have received the award as "Democrat of the Year" for 2014 for the 70th AD. I served for eight (8) years on the Long Beach City Council and recently was the Executive Director of the Miguel Contreras Foundation. I have worked for justice and equality and fought for working men and women all my adult life. I fought for Project Labor Agreements, Living wage for Hotel Workers and Marriage Equality for the LBGTQ community and for a pathway to citizenship for immigrants. I am a strong advocate for women in elected office. Megan Kerr   Female   My name is Megan Kerr, I am a newly elected member of the Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education. As a native and lifelong resident of Long Beach, I have spent my entire adult life advocating and working for progressive democratic causes including public education, reproductive rights, pay equity, LGBTQ issues, healthcare, domestic violence, homelessness and affordable housing. I am an active member of three local democratic clubs and have worked for and supported Democratic candidates and policy at the local, state, and federal levels. My passion is education policy and ensuring that all students have access to a high quality, fully funded education system that meets the needs of our most vulnerable students. Jeannine Pearce   Female   It would be my privilege to serve as your 70th Assembly District delegate. In my eight years in the district, I have worked alongside visionary Democrats to bend the arc of history toward justice for all residents. As a Director at the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, I led the coalition that won minimum wages and sick days for tourism-industry workers. I've also advocated on a number of issues including access to health care for all, affordable housing, and LGBTQ rights. As an organizer, I've been able to bring together unlikely coalitions and create a space for grassroots leaders to find their role in civic life. Having led a multitude of political and non-political campaigns, I know what it takes to win. In 2010, I was a lead on Steve Neal's successful bid for city council and Tonia Reyes Uranga's competitive write-in campaign. I went on to become the LA County Federation of Labor's coordinator for Jerry Brown's election and was in charge of six campaign offices. Accolades include Mayor Garcia's Go Beach Award and the Betty Karnette Community Activist Award. As an elected Delegate for the past four years, I have continued my decades long activities as a volunteer on numerous campaigns for Democratic candidates and have worked to pass propositions that provide funding for education and public transportation and that support working men and women, clean air, equal rights and justice for all and universal health care. Currently Marina serves on the board of the LB Democratic Club and is a graduate of several leadership organizations. Her current employment has familiarized her with the diverse population that comprises the district, as well as the day-to-day issues that affect the region. She aspires to advocate for causes that aligns with the CA Democratic Party and its progressive principals. Given her genuine compassion for the community and party's best interest for the district, she vows to carry on such responsibilities to the utter best of her ability. Jennifer Vallejo   Female   My fellow Democrats, my name is Jennifer and I have been a democrat for the past twelve years. I graduated from UCLA with a Masters in Social Work degree in 2012. Since then, I have worked for the Department of Mental Health of LA County. For the first two years, at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey and I currently work as part of the Psychiatric Mobile Response Team (PMRT). As a social worker, working both in the juvenile justice system and in the crisis team at PMRT, I have been an advocate for my clients and I welcome the opportunity to advocate for all citizens in our district. Being the daughter of immigrants to this great country, I have seen the progress made to make our cities safer and better but I also realize we have much work to do to build on this progress and continue striving for a better tomorrow for everyone. Abigail Mejia   Female   Abigail Mejia has been long-time democrat. She has been President of the California State University, Long Beach College Democrats and is member of the Long Beach Young Democrats, Long Beach Democratic Club and the Los Angeles County Democratic club. Suely Saro   Female   Suely Ngouy Saro is a public affairs and non-profit professional with a passion for social justice and public service. Saro is currently a field representative and works on health and human service issues in the Office of Senator Ricardo Lara. Meanwhile, she is the co-founder and board chair of Women for Women Foundation in Cambodia, which increases the economic security of women with disability through a social enterprise and social services programs. She was recently appointed to the Long Beach Health and Human Services Board. She began her career as a labor organizer working with Cambodian janitors at Service Employee International Union (SEIU) Local 6 and then health care and mental health workers at SEIU 1199NW in Seattle. She went on to become the first Cambodian American Executive Director of Khmer Girls in Action (KGA), which develops the leadership among Southeast Asian young women in Long Beach to organize and advocate for social change in their community. Subsequently, she joined the Health Access Project at Asians Americans Advancing Justice Los Angeles as a health policy advocate.

I have attended every State Convention and most E-Board meetings since 2009, and I pledge to continue to do so as your representative.
