Jose Trujillo   Male   I retired from the Community Redevelopment Agency and was responsible for providing low income housing for needed families and veterans, I also served 21 years with our Armed forces and very proud of having an Honorable Discharge, I served as a Union President over 18 years for Local 164, and as a Regional VP for AFSCME Council 36. I would like to represent all of you and voice our opinions specially in our present time were we need more unity among all demographics and express our most important political views that would bring us what we need in Southern California as "one group one voice".
Jason Gardea-Stinnett   Male   As a delegate to Assembly District 58 since 2012 on behalf of the State Democratic Party, I have been deeply engaged in helping elect and re-elect strong Democrats to office in my District and beyond. I am an ardent Democrat and leader in the Labor movement that believes in progress on critical issues like social and economic justice. I believe in walking the walk as much as I do in talking the talk. I march with my brother and sisters and Labor and I knock on doors with my fellow Democrats. I will continue to put in the work. In addition, as a public relations professional I have over 25 years of experience in municipal government that I bring to the table for the Democratic Party. Ali-Sajjad Taj   Male   My fellow Democrats, my name is Ali and I am currently Councilmember in Artesia. I would like to share that along with many other democratic activists throughout the state I am adding my voice to be a member in a team that espouses our views for the future of our nation. Murad Minasian   Male   Dear Fellow Democrats: I've been a delegate to the CA state Party for the past 4 years. I take this position very seriously as it is an honor to represent fellow democrats within our district to make sure our voices and issues of mutual concern are heard in Sacramento and DC. I've been involved with our state and federal representatives for years and have supported many of our current and past representatives. Miguel Canales   Male   Mayor Miguel Canales was sworn in as a Council Member for the City of Artesia, CA on December 7, 2011. He has been a high school teacher for the last 16 years, teaching government and economics in his local district. Miguel was born and raised in downtown Los Angeles. The son of immigrants from Zacatecas, Mexico he grew up with his mother, a textile worker and his father, who was a labor organizer. Miguel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz where he majored in American Studies and minored in Education. Education is important to him. He received a Master's degree in Education, and later a Master's degree in US History, both from Claremont Graduate University. He was a member and chair of the Artesia Planning Commission for two years prior to serving on city council. He is a member of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), a member of the League of California Cities, and has also been a Delegate for the California Democrats. Miguel was the recipient of the 2014 Franklin and Eleanor Roosevel Democrat of the year, 58th AD.
Mark Pulido   Male   My name is Mark Pulido and I am a proud member of the Democratic Party (since 1988). I serve currently as Mayor of the City of Cerritos (elected 2011). I served previously as Board President of the ABC Unified School District (elected 2001, 2005, 2009). I also serve currently as the District Director to Congressmember Alan Lowenthal (2012-present). For 12 years I worked for the California Legislature as a legislative consultant to Assembly Speakers Robert Hertzberg (2000-02), Herb Wesson Jr. (2002-04) and Fabian Nunez (2004-05) and as district director to Senator Alan Lowenthal (2005-12). I served as an elected DSCC Delegate/E-Board Member (56AD 2001-09, 58AD 13-15), 56AD Committee Chair (2001-03), elected Member of LACDCC (2000-06), elected DNC Delegate (Boston 2004), DNC Staff (Los Angeles 2000) and DNC Volunteer (Chicago 1996). I am a lifetime member of the Hubert Humphrey Democratic Club. I am a former associate member of SEIU Local 1000 California State Employees Association and member of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO. Leonard Zuniga   Male   For over 20 years, I have been an active member in the 58th assembly district and held executive board positions in political and community organizations. As a business owner, I have seen our community go through many political, economic, and social changes which has affected the lives of our family, friends, and neighbors. If elected, as a member of the 58th AD, I will commit to working hard with integrity, dependability, and accountability towards positive changes for the better of our community and the democratic process.
Paul Vallejo   Male   Fellow Democrats, my name is Paul and I have been a Democrat since I was 18. I am currently a student at California State University, Dominguez Hills majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on American Studies. I am a firm believer in liberal ideals and welcome the opportunity to have my and my community's voice heard over the next few years. I know we must work hard for the progress made by our party in our great state, and I promise to do my part to strive for a better tomorrow for all citizens of this district and California. Professionally, I have been a state employee since 1998, as a legislative staffer to two former Assemblymembers (1998-2006). Since 2007, I have served as Senior Assistant to State Controller and Treasurer-elect John Chiang. I've been a member of SEIU Local 1000 and the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO. I have a record of service with the Democratic Party. In 2013, I was elected as a delegate to the 58th AD of the DSCC and Vice ChairLos Angeles Region of the Filipino American Democratic Caucus. I have also served our party as an elected DSCC Delegate (1999-2009); An Alternate to the LACDCC (2000-2006); and a DNCC volunteer (2000 in Los Angeles). In June 2004, I was named the 56th AD Woman of the Year by the LACDP. I am a Lifetime Member of the Hubert Humphrey Democratic Club and a member of other local Democratic Clubs. Aurora Villon   Female   My interest in becoming an Assembly District Delegate stems from the great value I place on education and in providing our students with optimal opportunities to partake of the core values espoused by the Democratic Party. As a lifelong educator, a School Board President, and a school reformer, I see the need to increase my involvement in issues that can greatly impact the quality of education our students receive and their overall quality of life. In order for our nation to keep its place as the leader of the free world we must examine carefully the quality of education our students receive and allocate the necessary resources to transform our public schools into places where all students thrive and are prepared for a global society. If elected as a delegate I will bring 35 years of experience in K-university public education and an extensive knowledge in educational leadership, policy-making, and school reform. I hold a masters degree in Guidance and Counseling, a masters degree in Education, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and School Reform. It would be a great honor and pleasure to represent my community as an Assembly District Delegate.

As a Special Education Teacher for the Downey Unified School District, I advocate for children every day, and I am especially passionate about fighting for the rights of those with disabilities. I am a proud member of the California Teachers Association, and I am the union site representative for my school. I strongly believe in quality and equitable public education for all Californians. I am also a strong believer in a robust civil justice system. I believe in full and fair access to California courts. I believe in justice for all, not simply those who can afford.
