SAN DIEGO – Today the California Democratic Party released TV and radio ads featuring Michelle Obama urging San Diegans to vote for Democrats for Congress next Tuesday.
Democrat Colonel Doug Applegate is making a strong run at embattled Republican Darrell Issa in the 49th Congressional District, which the Cook Political Report and the Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report have labeled a “toss-up.” Democrats also are seeking to return Rep. Scott Peters to Congress.
Democrats have tripled their voter registration edge over Republicans in San Diego County since January, driven by on-the-ground outreach and grassroots support.
The ads are paid for by the California Democratic Party.
Transcript for California Democratic Party TV ad from First Lady Michelle Obama:
San Diego, everything we’ve accomplished over the past eight years is at stake in this election.
That’s why we need to elect Democrats who share our values.
Our votes on Tuesday will determine the path of San Diego County and our country not just for the next four years, but for generations to come.
So please, vote for Democrats for Congress this Tuesday, November 8th.
