The video features Cheryl knocking on doors throughout her neighborhood and highlights her experience as an award-winning public school teacher and two-term Pleasanton City Councilmember. It also mentions her endorsement by Planned Parenthood NorCal Action Fund, the only endorsement that organization has made in this race.
Cheryl’s campaign has been highlighted by the Speaker of the Assembly as one of the top target for Democrats in the state. The demographics of Assembly District 16 strongly favor a Democrat, with a 10-point registration advantage and strong support for Governor Brown and President Obama. AD16 is the only seat in the Bay Area currently being held by a Republican.
In recent weeks, Cook-Kallio has been endorsed by many statewide elected officials, including Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, State Controller Betty Yee, and State Treasurer John Chiang. She has also received the sole endorsement of Planned Parenthood NorCal Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice California, and the California National Organization for Women.
