SACRAMENTO – With a historic high voter turnout predicted for Election Day, the California Democratic Party has opened our Protect and Promote the Vote (P2TV) hotline to answer voters’ questions and prevent voter intimidation.
Voters can call (877) 321-VOTE (8683) to receive answers to questions such as: Where is my polling place? Who are the California Democratic Party endorsed candidates? What ballot propositions does the Democratic Party support? Attorneys will be available to quickly address any problems with voting access.
The Republican Party led by Donald Trump has spread lies about a “rigged” election in the hopes of scaring away voters on Election Day.
But with California voter registration at a record high 19 million and 3.3 million early ballots already cast, our state is on track for one of the highest-turnout elections in history.
“Voting is the most basic right in our democracy, but we have already seen Republicans here in California and across the nation using voter suppression tactics to stop people from voting,” said California Democratic Party Executive Director Chris Masami Myers. “With California on the verge of a historic election, we are doing everything we can to ensure voters can exercise their rights.”
The P2TV hotline is staffed at the California Democratic Party Headquarters, and attorneys, law students and non-attorney volunteers in the Sacramento area can sign up to help. Spanish speakers are available. Learn more about our P2TV program here: http://www.cadem.org/vote/p2tv
