In the wake of the horrendous school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut there is both righteous anger and renewed interest in passing sensible gun legislation. Nothing we can do will ever return those innocent children to the arms of their loving families but we can take strong, aggressive steps to make sure tragedies like these don't become quarterly experiences for communities across America.
Senator Dianne Feinstein has pledged to re-introduce the Assault Weapons Ban in January and President Obama today indicated he supports sensible gun legislation that would help make incidents like the one in Newtown less common.

It is past time to pass legislation eliminating the sale of military-style assault weapons and extended ammunition clips. Weapons of war have no place in our communities and certainly no place in our schools.
