California Democratic Party Calls On Meg Whitman To Disassociate Herself From Self-Proclaimed "Proud Racist"

Sacramento – The California Democratic Party today called on Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman to immediately disassociate herself, and her campaign operation, from Santa Clarita councilman Bob Kellar, who declared himself a “proud racist” at a recent Tea Party-style rally in Southern California.

Meg Whitman’s website touts Kellar’s endorsement among a list of elected officials who have endorsed her campaign.

“There should be no room for racists in the Republican primary or any part of our electoral system,” said Martha Escutia, general counsel for the California Democratic Party. “We call on Meg Whitman to immediately disassociate herself from a self-proclaimed ‘proud racist.’”
