On December 1, the California Democratic Party will welcome Tenoch Flores as its new communications director.
A seasoned media professional with more than a decade of experience, Flores has worked as an account director for Fenton Communications, the nation’s largest public interest communications firm. Before that, he was the media relations manager for the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, where he developed the communications strategy after the 9/11 attacks and during the landmark Williams v. California class action lawsuit over school conditions for the poorest students.
Flores formerly worked in Washington, D.C., as a press aide to U. S. Sen. Barbara Boxer. He is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience working with Spanish-language media.
A San Diego native, Flores graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in political science.
Flores will succeed current CDP communications director Kate Folmar, who is relocating to Washington, D.C.
